Presight Solutions has been acquired by Banyan Software, a leading acquirer and operator of mission-critical software businesses. Banyan Software focuses on long-term growth and on operational independence. The acquisition marks a new chapter for Presight and strengthens the ability to scale while maintaining the product focus, industry depth, and customer trust.
Founded in 2003, Presight has built more than two decades of experience. The company delivers advanced software for safety, operational integrity, and regulatory compliance in high-risk industries. Presight started by solving practical, on-the-ground safety and compliance challenges. Over time, it has evolved into a specialised software platform embedded in customers’ daily operations. What began as a tool to replace fragmented and manual processes has grown over time.
Today, it is a purpose-built platform supporting continuous oversight and regulatory compliance across critical industrial operations. Presight supports a growing international customer base and plays an integral role in daily operational oversight and regulatory compliance. Presight is trusted by companies such as Equinor, Stena Drilling, Vår Energi and Akofs.
“Presight was built to solve real, operational problems for teams working in high-risk environments. As we looked for a long-term partner, Banyan stood out for their deep experience with mission-critical software and their thoughtful, long-term approach to growth. Just as important, they share our commitment to our people, our customers, and the integrity of the product we’ve built. That alignment gives us strong confidence in the next chapter for Presight,” said Petter Holst Johnsen, CEO of Presight.
Jørgen Waaler, Chairman of Presight Solutions, added: “As founders, preserving that legacy mattered deeply to us. Banyan understands what has made Presight successful and shares our view that the company’s future should be about building on that foundation – strengthening the platform, supporting the team, and ensuring continuity for customers as the business enters its next phase.”
From Presight’s perspective, the acquisition provides access to a broader network, operational expertise, and long-term support, without changing how the company operates day-to-day.
“What impressed us about Presight is the combination of deep industry understanding and a disciplined approach to product development,” said Julie Koegenboeg, Head of Northern Europe at Banyan Software. “We are excited to support Petter and the whole Presight team as they continue to lead the business. With their expertise and our support, Presight is well-positioned to grow into new markets while staying grounded in the values that have shaped its success.”
With the acquisition of Presight, Banyan has strengthened its presence in the Nordic region and has recently opened an office in Stockholm with a local team to better serve and support its regional portfolio.
Oaklins Norway acted as exclusive financial advisor to Presight Solutions in the transaction and provided valuable support throughout the acquisition process.
