Presight Solutions has entered into an agreement with Equinor and Vår Energi to deliver Presight PipeSpec as a Software as a Service (SaaS) solution.
In collaboration with Equinor, Presight Solutions has developed an advanced digitalised solution for pipe and valve specifications. Until now, the solution has been reserved for Equinor’s own facilities and run on Equinor’s own infrastructure. The solution, under the name TR2000, is today well known among professionals throughout the value chain, from operators, contractors and suppliers to manufacturers both in Norway and abroad.
This is a significant contract for the company and the solution becomes a new important focus area.
As a result of the new agreement with Equinor, the solution has now been upgraded to new technology, moved to the cloud and is now commercially available as a SaaS solution through the product name Presight PipeSpec.
With this, Equinor wants to help make their investments over the past 20 years available to the industry, as well as stimulate collaboration and knowledge sharing. PipeSpec can have a major impact on the safety of facilities around the world, as failures in pipe and valve systems can lead to major accidents and serious incidents. For example, Equinor’s specifications on valve data sheets are now being used as a starting point for the design of the new NORSOK standard for valve requirements. These new revised data sheets will be available through Presight PipeSpec.
Presight Solutions is already in negotiations with several of the other operating companies.
Petter Holst Johnsen, General Manager of Presight Solutions says:
– “Managing pipe and valve systems manually in Excel is time-consuming. With Presight PipeSpec, our customers can update requirements and specifications in one place, then it spreads automatically to all relevant projects, and via the internet available to the entire value chain from operator, via contractor and to manufacturer.
More about the Presight PipeSpec
A “pipe and valve specification” specifies all requirements in connection with the design, composition, production, testing, documentation, etc. of pipes, fittings, flanges and valves.
Presight PipeSpec is a unique solution that streamlines the work of operators in preparing and maintaining pipe and valve specifications in a safe way. At the same time, it gives everyone in the value chain access to the specifications via the internet.
The solution is used for various process plants such as offshore oil and gas platforms, onshore plants for receiving, processing and refining, to offshore wind transformers and converter stations.
The solution supports all phases from planning and design, to maintenance and modification, and ensures the right quality and up-to-date documentation.
Presight PipeSpec is a flexible solution that can refer to various standards such as NORSOK, ASME, API and ISO. The specifications are built up according to the users’ own wishes, needs and requirements. The advantage of Presight PipeSpec is that it can communicate with other digital systems such as 3D design, procurement and digital twins. The unifying processes can provide significant cost savings.
